The World's Fair January 19th, 2018 - In This Week

Ten years for Thetford fireworks

For the first time in ten years, Thetford’s Fireworks Spectacular fell on November 5, which also coincided with the event’s ten year anniversary.

Lee Harwood’s account is on page 6.

West Hagley Halloween Circus

For the October half term week John Lawson’s Circus presented a Halloween special circus at Webbs Garden Centre in West Hagley. Situated on a busy main road, the Big Top was clearly visible for any passers-by travelling by car (or indeed on foot). Shows were performed three times a day from Monday to Saturday.

Andy Payne’s review is on page 18.

A trio of Volvo F88s

Ever since I started contributing to World’s Fair some eight years ago, (yes, it really has been that long), I have championed Volvo’s F88 as my favourite lorry. There’s just something about that tall cab, with the huge black plastic grille, split windscreen and large Volvo script across the front that sets these lorries apart from others.

Charlie Elston’s report is on page 22.
