Coggers bring lower price back at Hertford

funfair

When Coggers Nationwide Amusements visited the county town of Hertford in the spring of 2016 they pitched the ticket price at £2.50 for adult rides and £2 for juveniles and shows, which was a massive increase on past years. This was clearly a mistake as each day over the 18 days that the fair was in operation attendance became fewer and fewer.

Stephen Harris’ account is on page 5.

John Lawson’s returns to Woburn Sands

Circus

After having three separate units running at the same time over the Christmas period, February proved to be just as busy for Niven Lawson and his teams at John Lawson’s Circus, as once again they operated three completely different shows, all in different venues.

Homeward bound – Part 1

pres

I have to admit to being one of those rally going enthusiasts who looks forward to the end of the final day, when the exhibits are preparing for the journey home. For it is then that we witness the steamers and commercials in a different mode, rather than just parked up in a line or making a graceful slow circuit around the arena. With trailers or living vans coupled up behind, or on low loaders, the homeward journey begins and the cameras are always at the ready.

Stephen Harris’ report is on page 26.
