Temperatures soared into the high 20s and there was unbroken sunshine for hour after hour at the biggest event of the year at Newark-on-Trent. There were times when it was just too hot for comfort for the showmen and for the crowds at the three day festival.

Preservation

Another full scale rally for CTPC

After a decade of being somewhat in the doldrums the Cornish Traction Preservation Club, now into its 57th year and with a band of younger members, is certainly heading in a positive direction, and this year staged a full scale traction engine rally for the second consecutive year, once again receiving rave reviews. The second bank holiday weekend in May was again the date, and the venue was the traditional location of Tredinnick, which was home to the club’s annual rallies back in the 1990s.
