The colour and music of the fair was welcomed back to the centre of Ashby-de-la-Zouch when Pat Collins Fun Fairs presented the annual Ashby Statutes Fair back in September.
Staged in and around in the Market Street and Brook Street from September 17 to 21 (Friday to Tuesday), the public support was good over the five days.
The lessees have very strong links with the town, Councillor Anthony Harris having been granted the Freedom of Ashby two years ago, a fact that was highlighted in the local media.
Among the major attractions, Michael Harris’ new Dodgem track boasted outstanding lighting effects, and practically every piece of equipment looked immaculate in the autumn sunshine.
John Gill’s nice toy set and James Weston’s toy track were new for the children and the superbly decorated Battle of The Black Country shooter of John Allen Snr, boasted a few familiar faces among the cowboys and Indians.
Extra entertainment included dinosaur characters and a display of large spiders. The Methodist Church held a service on the Dodgem track on Sunday morning prior to the fair opening for business and ground among the side stalls was given to local charities.
