The Oldham-based firm Whittaker Bros have reported the sad death of long-time director Neil Anthony Holden.
Director John Whittaker says: “Neil was 78 and, whilst having poor health for the last few years, still took a keen interest in the business.
He was the purchasing and spare parts director for Whittakers and is well known to a large number of arcade operators and engineers as the voice on the end of the phone.
For many years he looked after spares business for operators with Whittaker and Reverchon dodgem cars and had frequent contact with travelling Showmen and amusement park operators.
Neil also looked after Whittakers site operation on the Yorkshire Coast and was a well-known face in the area during the summer months.”
Neil passed away peacefully at home on 19 October with his family by his side. He was the dearly loved husband of Carole, father of Claire and Richard and a much-loved Grandad and Great Grandad.
For funeral arrangements contact Hedley Jackson Shaw on 01706 847422.
Our condolences to the family and to his colleagues at Whittaker Bros.
