At the Scottish Section Annual Luncheon in November, a presentation was made to long-standing Section Secretary Jane Rodgers on her impending retirement.
Jane has worked for the Section for nearly 40 years and decided the time had come for her to step back from her busy role and take life a little easier.
Although declaring that she didn’t want any fuss, Jane found herself in the limelight when Section Chairman Billy Hammond called her forward to pay tribute to her service to the showmen and to present her with a gift of a well-earned holiday to get her retirement off to a good start.
Having made so many friends not only amongst the showmen but also amongst MSPs, councillors and business associates of the showmen, it was an emotional moment for Jane.
Jane formally retired in December. Jacqui Parker, Assistant Secretary for many years, has taken the role of Scottish Section Secretary. Jacqui is assisted by Caroline Maxwell.
