Hippodrome Circus Christmas spectacular returns

The Show Must Go On!

The Hippodrome Circus in Great Yarmouth is opening its doors for its legendary Christmas Spectacular on Saturday 12th December. The show is planned to run until Sunday 10th January.

Jack Jay will be hosting the show again accompanied by Norfolk comedy star Ben Langley. They will be joined by an amazing cast of international circus performers and, of course, the world-famous Water Spectacular.

Great Yarmouth is currently in Tier 2 of the new regulations set to commence after lockdown ends on 2nd December. As you would expect, the Hippodrome will be operating in a Covid-safe way and will be continuing to adhere to social distancing guidelines throughout the theatre.

There will be a limited capacity within the auditorium to allow for safe spacing of audience members to give them an experience that is as safe and enjoyable as possible.

Because seats will be limited, the Hippodrome are asking people to book in advance to avoid disappointment. Due to the special measures, seats will have to be booked over the phone with the Box Office. Seats cannot be booked online for this particular show.

Family bubble groups will be seated together and then socially distanced from other audience members.

This special performance will be shorter (approx 70–75 minutes) in length with no intermission to reduce the traffic in crowded areas and make sure that guests can remain as safe as possible.

The Hippodrome Circus are also advising guests to arrive early to allow extra time for entry and seating before performances.

The Hippodrome management are confident they can still deliver the fun, magic and spectacle that the people know and love from the Hippodrome.

Appearing with Jack and Ben will be world-class circus acts that include new stunning aerial acrobats from Cuba and the heart-stopping Wheel of Death. The stunning cast are joined by dancers and swimmers to create a Christmas Spectacular like no other.

The show is described as “a dynamic Yuletide show” with outstanding lighting, the unique water spectacular, and sound and special effects dubbed by the Daily Mail as one of the “7 wonders of the British seaside”.

This year because of the high demand there will be two special Gala New Year’s Eve performances at 4.30pm and 8pm. Tickets for these shows are normal prices plus £3 which includes a goody bag of New Year’s fun.

Producer and director Jack Jay said: “We have an incredible line up this Christmas in a fast moving and now record-breaking dynamic show. There’s drama, the unique water spectacle and the world’s best circus artistes. Wow! What a way to celebrate Christmas.  This year we also have the Covid restrictions which greatly reduces our capacity so we advise everyone to book early to avoid disappointment as many of the shows will sell out!”

To book seats, call the Ticket Hotline on 01493 738877. The Box Office will be open daily from 10am.

If for any reason shows have to be cancelled, guests will be offered a full ticket refund or a voucher to use for one of the Hippodrome Circus’s 2021 shows.
